The only thing that comes to mind about the City Council’s plan to do “city walks” to promote their campaigns what’s left of their city is that I hope they’re carrying plenty of insect repellent to keep away the midge attacks. I’d take along some Mace or your favorite John Jay Lee autographed concealed-carry device, [...] Couple of Norftown news items coursing through the Internet tubes: Clark County District Judge Elizabeth Gonzales has ruled in favor of Toothless Wade Wagner and put a halt to the special election in Precinct 4036. (Sun) We’ll see if there is such a thing as an appeal in the wind, or if the recent resignation [...] The North Las Vegas Alliance of Home Owners' Associations and Concerned Folk will be having it's monthly meeting on Thursday, Dec. 10 at 6 pm at the Aliante Library (assuming the city doesn't shut the library down due to budget pressures between now and then). Based on the number of votes cast for the legislation [...] Nor'Townie State Senator John Jay Lee's been busy during this Legislative Session. Unfortunately that's not always a good thing. He did take a stand against the bill that passed the Senate weakening smoking laws and made an impassioned plea against it:

Assemblyman and fellow Nor’Towner Kelvin Atkinson seemed a bit nervous about the measure: Assemblyman Kelvin Atkinson, D-Las Vegas [sic], abstained [...] I musta slept through this one, but the RJ reported awhile back that Nor’Town Councilmembers Shari Buck, Stephanie Smith, and William Robinson are all thinking about running for mayor, as is State Senator John Lee. (RJ) Buck will most likely be running as a Republican and Lee, Smith, and Robinson as Democrats. Nor’Town is number one in growth. (Sun) Mayor Mike must be ecstatic. Let’s drive a bulldozer over some bearpoppies to celebrate. Another bit from the same Sun story tells us just how pathetic Nor’Town is.
