Well, okay. It's more of a wedge issue, but I'm guessing it feels like a wedgie to the North Las Vegas Housing Authority. It's pretty hard telling the difference between Nor'Town councilmembers if you look at their voting records. Most issues they face are pretty straightforward and pretty dull. Arguing over ten feet versus five [...] As America's worst governor enjoys about the one good day–for him–of his tortured tenure in office, we hear: As for news that North Las Vegas Mayor Mike Montandon, a Republican, is forming an exploratory committee to run for governor in 2010, the newly smiling Gibbons seemed unfazed. (Sun) Well. The mayor will learn what it's [...] Term limited Mayor Mike was profiled in the Review Journal today, and we learn he's interested in a seat in Congress. Assuming he's not planning to move, that could mean he might be thinking of taking on Shelley Berkley in two years. He'd have to start raising funds, oh, about two years ago, though, because [...] For want of a healthy foot, the top secret budget meeting of the North Las Vegas City Council would have nixed the money for staff at the new Alexander Library. Mayor Mike Montandon and Stephanie Smith were in favor of the money for staff at the library, and William Robinson and Robert Eliason were [...] This appears on a blog for some gun, ahem, enthusiasts: Tim, one of our loyal readers, has received a letter from Mayor Mike Montandon of North Las Vegas indicating that he is fully in favor of doing away with the unconstitutional and now illegal firearms related ordinances found in his fair city. Mayor Mike is [...] I had a feeling when I saw Review Journal reporters huddled around an angry homeowner at the North Las Vegas City Council meeting last week that the RJ would be posting a story about the evil condemnations on the 5th street corridor. Yup, I called it. (RJ,NorV) Except the next day the Editorial Bored [sic] [...] For $85.00 some hapless bidder won lunch with Mayor Mike. The money went to benefit Public Radio, which I would think would raise visions of Stalinist socialized media in our free market mayor’s mind. (Nevada Public Radio). What was the most odd thing about the auction was the estimated price of the lunch: "priceless." Heavens, [...] The New York Times quotes an oddly reflective Mayor Mike Montandon, who, even more oddly, doesn’t seem to think the "damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead" growth in Nor’Town is entirely a good thing. Even some ardent fans of the [BLM Land Swap] law say the infusion of cash has led to overreaching on the [...] North Las Vegas Mayor Mike Montandon got booed at a recent board of directors meeting of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, of which body the Mayor is unaccountably a member. Board members were discussing project labor agreements (PLAs) between unions and project managers that serve to avoid strikes and walkouts during the course [...] So, how do you cover up widespread incompetence during your mayoral tenure? Why, create a conspiracy theory, that’s how! Today’s Sun tells us that the North Las Vegas Housing Authority has been sitting on funds for needy Nor’Towners which should have been distributed to qualified recipients of Section 8 help:
