Whoa! Where else do you get $337,000 for messing up? Besides Goldman Sachs, I mean. $337,000 is how much it's going to cost Nor'Town to get rid of its current City Manager Gregory Rose. You're a political reporter who wants to write an article about the disgusting state of Nevada's campaign finance laws. So, where to go for a good example of how politicians Nevada can suck in the money without revealing who's sending it in? Why North Las Vegas, of course, home of ex-mayor Mike Montandon's [...] Boy was I wrong when I wrote that mayor Mike Montandon was being nice to both mayoral candidates. Turns out, he doesn’t think you should bother to vote. So it seems when we read John L. Smith’s column in today’s RJ: “The race is over,” exiting Mayor Michael Montandon said with consummate confidence earlier this [...] Nor'Town Sludgecakes. Not to be taken internally! Others have talking points, quick hits, or gleanettes. Nor’Towners are stuck with Sludge Cakes! Ding, dong, Don England’s gone. The “CEO” of the North Las Vegas Housing Authority turned in his resignation for “masking” troubles at Casa Rosa Aparments, and because the Authority can’t [...] They should rename the town Dr. Jeckyll, Mr. Nor’Town, it has so many faces. The opening of Aliante Station presented the town’s face that the Mayor and City Council prefer to have in the public eye. And they had much help from the local newspapers telling us over and over just how nifty the first [...] Well, okay. It's more of a wedge issue, but I'm guessing it feels like a wedgie to the North Las Vegas Housing Authority. It's pretty hard telling the difference between Nor'Town councilmembers if you look at their voting records. Most issues they face are pretty straightforward and pretty dull.
