There’s a special session of the North Las Vegas City Council at 4:30pm, Weds. Mar. 3rd to discuss staffing of city Utilities personnel. Don’t know if that will bring out the Utilities folk and make for another sardeen-like council meeting, but no one can predict these days.

BLM folk will be out and about next week soliciting comments on the draft of their Supplemental Environmental Impact Statement on the Upper Vegas Wash. Everyone is invited to attend the meeting and hopefully support either alternative A which sets aside 13,000 acres for stuff such as fossile bed preservation or the BLM’s preferred alternative [...] That was the message North Las Vegas Firefighters and Police brought to council chambers Wednesday night. That is, we’ll be murdered in our beds if council decides to cut personnel from those departments. (KTNV,LVNow,Sun,RJ) Council members seemed surprised by the uprising. The mayor pro temp William Robinson insisted that no one was talking about cuts [...] Lot’s o’meetings coming up this week at City Council. To start off, there’s the Redevelopment Meeting at 5:30 pm Weds, Feb. 3 over at city hall, 2200 Civic Center Drive, North Las Vegas, Nevada. After that, there’s the regular meeting at 6 pm, same place, where there’s all sorts of fun: Council will be taking up that animal [...] Clark County Commissioners Tom Collins and Chris Guinchigliani have sent letters to Nor’Town City Councilfolk protesting a proposed ordinance designed to regulate the sale of animals in public places. (KTVN) According to the commissioners, the new ordinance will actually conflict with the city’s own spay and neuter laws. The laws require that animals be “fixed” by [...] A Nor'Town Tree City Council will be holding court in a special session mostly about Parks and Recreation related matters at 4:30 pm, Weds. Jan. 20, in City Hall, still at Civic Center Drive, North Las Vegas, Nevada. Apparently the protocol for naming parks and buildings is in need of an upgrade, as is the [...] Others have talking points, quick hits, or gleanettes. Nor’Towners are stuck with Sludge Cakes! I ddn’t make it to the Wednesday meetings of the North Las Vegas City Council, so we’ll have to rely on the Main Stream Media (MSM) to fill in the gaps: Council voted for an audit of the “More Cops” account to see [...] One topic at a longish meeting of the North Las Vegas City Council last night (Dec. 15th) was an exercise in determining what should be Nor’Town’s primary responsibilities. The idea is to rank services so as make it easier to identify where to snip.
