He's waiting for another bailout bill to stuff it into, I'm guessing. (Sun) Sorry, plans for a golf course [...] For want of a healthy foot, the top secret budget meeting of the North Las Vegas City Council would have nixed the money for staff at the new Alexander Library. Mayor Mike Montandon and Stephanie Smith were in favor of the money for staff at the library, and William Robinson and Robert Eliason were [...] Councilperson Shari Buck is the current leader in campaign bucks for the Mayoral Race next year. Campaign finance reports are available over on the North Las Vegas site, and you’d better enjoy ‘em because you won’t see a thing until next year in January because of Nevada’s crappy campaign finance reporting laws. Next year, you’ll [...] I had a feeling when I saw Review Journal reporters huddled around an angry homeowner at the North Las Vegas City Council meeting last week that the RJ would be posting a story about the evil condemnations on the 5th street corridor. Yup, I called it. (RJ,NorV) Except the next day the Editorial Bored [sic] [...] So, how do you cover up widespread incompetence during your mayoral tenure? Why, create a conspiracy theory, that’s how! Today’s Sun tells us that the North Las Vegas Housing Authority has been sitting on funds for needy Nor’Towners which should have been distributed to qualified recipients of Section 8 help:
The U.S. Housing and [...] The Sun tells us of the tantrum thrown by the Clark County School District over the proposed tech school up on Deer Creek. CCSD played the role of Dick Cheney and acted surprised when neighbors near the school refused to throw rose petals in their path as they announced the new school. In response to [...] Woah. You know, you get 3 out of 5 city council members running for mayor and they get busy. There is the portion of the city council meeting set aside for "council items" where city council members introduce initiatives. Usually nothing happens during those because, well, that’s what the back room is for. Even though [...] Nor’Towner City Councilperson Stephanie Smith endorsed Hillary Clinton for president earlier this month. (HillaryClinton.com). I musta slept through this one, but the RJ reported awhile back that Nor’Town Councilmembers Shari Buck, Stephanie Smith, and William Robinson are all thinking about running for mayor, as is State Senator John Lee. (RJ) Buck will most likely be running as a Republican and Lee, Smith, and Robinson as Democrats. Over in the Las Vegas Sun we learn again how the Will of North Las Vegas residents is thwarted by our supposedly elected government officials. The story reminds us how the majority of North Las Vegans voted for plan 1 of the Craig Ranch Regional Park, but in the dead of night afternoon, the City [...] |
